TGI Friday’s is perfectly located to indulge in that late evening drink right after work. After all it is located at the junction of Airport Road, Indiranagar and the Inner Ring Road.
The biggest draw of TGIF is of course their happy hours which doubles the drinks you order for free!! The only drawback of this is you need to place your order before 8:30 PM. I guess that would explain the headlong dash to the pub the moment work lets up 
If you’ve been in Bangalore for while you’d understand me when I say, think steaks, think Only place. The location has changed, and so has the quality of food over the last decade or so but the one thing that hasn’t are the waiters , and yes it is still rather dirty.
Located at the end of Museum Road is a restaurant that really hasn’t changed very much, parking is still a problem however if you are lucky you just might get a spot on the main road.
Before i start this review I’d like to say that i have always been a fan of Shiok. So when i heard that they opened up at a new location i felt this would be a perfect opportunity to revisit the food that i liked so much.
The night was in celebration of a friends birthday and we were as charged up as we could be given the fact we were heading back from work, and therefore slightly beat. Unfortunately the experience started heading downhill the moment we stepped foot through the door.
After a rather long crummy day spent at home i decided to step out for some fresh air , food and drink. The latter of course taking priority over the former.
Herbs and Spice seemed a logical choice given the fact that one, I hadn’t eaten there before and two, it always looked appealing. Though all this paled in comparison to the fact that i found parking. So there you go, the reason i ended up eating here is because i found parking!
UB City, the center of all things excess and flamboyant in Bangalore now host some of the nicer restaurants in the city.
After having spent a number of months driving by the “bling” city i decided to take the plunge and try out one of the restaurants, and the first just happened to be Toscano. Run by Head chef Jean-Michel this restaurant aims at providing an Italian fine dinning experience outside the confines of a hotel.
Whitefield does have a number of companies scattered around and as a result a number of restaurants and hotels have sprung up to cater to the burgeoning corporate crowd.
While there are a number of more expensive options, sometimes all you want is a decent, solid helping of Chinese food and for those of you in the Whitefield / Marathalli area, Wok with Chung just might be what you are looking for.
I’ve been on the lookout for a good brunch with alcohol, and while most of us have eaten the more extravagant buffets ( at the Leela’s for example ) I was hell bent on finding one that didn’t burn a hole in your wallet.
Bon South ( yes the cuisine is South Indian ) wouldn’t have been my first choice for a sunday brunch. I like a large buffet and I do prefer it to be continental. However at Rs 550 this seemed quite a bargain and the fact that they tossed in unlimited cocktails sealed the deal for me.
Before i get started on this post i would like to say I’m a die hard Sushi fan. I’ve made it my mission to get people i know to try Japanese food, in an attempt to change the “how can you eat raw fish!!” mindset.
For those of you who haven’t eaten Japanese food i would strongly advise you to try it, and if you can go with someone who can help you order.
This review should act as a rough compass as to what you should try when you are at Harima.
I decided, after a long time, that i would revisit the 100ft Boutique restaurant in Indiranagar. I have very fond memories of the place ( yes i know, that statement does make the restaurant sound a 100 years old… not to mention me as well ) and decided it would be a safe bet for a dinner.
A friend had told me about their Wednesday night Mediterranean special which at 540 rupees seemed reasonable enough and so i decided to check it out., and that as they say is where the nightmare began.
I thought it was about time i featured a “proper” restaurant, so i did just that.
Via Milano is a “relatively” new restaurant and is situated at what is possibly the busiest intersection in Koramangala, they do have valet parking so you don’t need to stress. Just be prepared to wait a good 20 minutes to crawl your car through the last 50 feet before you get to the restaurant.
This review hopefully gives you an insight of what you could expect when you drop in.
When i started this Blog a few days ago i did have a particular restaurant in mind that i wanted to review. It just so happens i didn’t have pictures of the place and so my first post ended up being Vicky’s La Terrazza.
So let’s dig in shall we?
I was told about this place a while ago by a friend who has been trying to drag me there ever since she “sampled” the chocolate deserts.
The Experience:
The restaurant is rather good, I was there when there wasn’t too much a of a crowd so the service was spot on. The food was excellent and the pricing good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a value for money experience in Koramanagala.
I would recommend you try the chicken with Basil rice, this is something that i quite enjoyed. It came with a white sauce and sundried tomatoes ( oh how i love them!! ) and some salad ( fresh and crunchy just the way i like it ). Their sauces are delicious and the portions just right.
The Greek Fish was rather nice as well , as i happened to nick some ( read most ) of my friends plate. Again with a side of pasta, cooked just right, and on a bed of potatoes. The Fish was served in two pieces sandwiched between olives. The only thing i would have recommended would be some nuts to give it a nice crunchy texture.
While i am not a desert person ( yes i know half of you reading this will be wincing in pain right now ) i did really enjoy their ganache tart and semi freddo. Definitely some of the best deserts i’ve had, and at under a 100 rupees quite a steal.
The Semi freddo has some really interesting textures, its creamy and light with chocolate bits that give it a really nice crunchy-ness ( is that a word? )
The ganache tart is great as well, the biscuit base is a little salty so you don’t get overwhelmed with the sweetness as with most deserts and the chocolate is well chocolate!!
All in all, a place that i think you should definitely check out when you get the chance.
Gripes:
The only real issue i had with the restaurant was the fact that their garlic bread was sweet ( yes i know, good heavens!! ) and the fact that they didn’t have a cocktail menu.
