The Bistro is the second restaurant that I visited at the World Cuisine Network and while there has been a level of inconsistency with the  food. The overall experience has been rather pleasant.

Located at the ground floor of the building the Bistro is a cafe/restaurant that is open throughout the day for those of you who like eating at odd hours. It’s slim picking for those of us who’d like to grab a bite at 4 in the afternoon.

The Experience:

The ambience is welcoming. the seating comfortable and the music decent. However, I haven’t been here when it’s packed so its impossible to comment on the quality of service when they’re operating at full steam. The waiters are very polite and stay out of your way unless called upon which is a big plus in my book.

To Drink:

Being a cafe there is lots to choose from ( including alcoholic beverages ) and I’d certainly recommend the Mojito if you are in the mood to drink or the hot chocolate if you want to start desert early :)

To Eat:

Again, there is a wide range to chose from and the all day favorites are just the start.

  • Chicken Strips
  • Fish n Chips
  • Crunchy Prawns & Chips
  • Spaghetti Bolognaise
  • Penne Alfredo

If you are health conscious the Caesar  or the Wild Field Salad should do. Appetizers include crispy fish fingers, drums of devil ( drumsticks with spicy tomato sauce ) and Jack cheesy chicken crispies.

This cafe wouldn’t be complete without sandwiches , the ham and cheese isn’t as nice as the BLT.  The last time I ended up ordering the Bistro Triple Decker which was a little too dry for my liking and  the layers of chicken mayo, ham, cheese, salad and fried egg did make it rather difficult to fit it in your mouth.

Their french fries are some of the best I’ve had in a long while as is their coleslaw.

Hamburgers are big on my list of things to eat when I’m starving, and their Captain Morgan burger really hits the spot. A 7 ounce tenderloin burger with captain Morgan sauce, topped with bacon strips , a sunny side omelet and Colby cheese.

And yes, it does look rather appetizing.

I have to mention here that the second time we placed an order for the burger it wasn’t seasoned properly at all, the upside was they didn’t charge us for it.

The crepes are rather nice and if you have salmon on your mind try the smoked salmon, lettuce and cream cheese crepe.

Finishing Up:

They have a yummy looking desert counter ..

  • Tiramisu
  • Chocolate Brownie
  • Oreo oreo Chocolate
  • Melon & Kiwi pudding
  • and much more…

The Fine Print:

Type : Cafe

Cuisine: Continental

Meal Details: All day dinning

Alcohol? : Yes

Meal for 2: A “meal”  for 2 would set you back around Rs 2000

Cards? : Yes

Gripes:

A little on the expensive side and there is a level of inconsistency with the food which would either mean you’d have a great experience or a terrible one.

I've been an avid Foodie ever since i can remember, whether it was enjoying something my Grand Mother rustled up in the kitchen, eating at a five star hotel or at a corner Dhaba. This Blog was started as a means of discussing with you, the reader, my experiences at these very restaurants and watering holes across the city of Bangalore. Over time I plan to include information on alcohol and travel destinations as well.
