What started out as an innocent night out with friends quickly turned into a full blown fiasco( at least for the foody in me ) . The ingredients? sub-standard food, confused waiters and a restaurant that tries to be chic and fails.

As you can probably tell this is one of my harsher reviews, but as I’ve mentioned before if you charge a premium on your food you are expected to deliver on diner experience.

The Experience:

Located just off the main koramangala road this restaurant , which is an extension of a hotel, tries to masquerade as a chic continental restaurant. Unfortunately for the patrons it fails quite badly.

Your senses are assaulted the moment you take in their rather garish blue and red sign that frankly cheapens the whole restaurant.

The restaurant is divided into two sections, air conditioned and not ( or that’s the impression i got ). Their decor is very plain outside and rather startling on the inside.

Their staff, at least the one I did interact with was rather inept and on one occasion couldn’t tell me what meat they were planning to put into my salad ( and yes i did point out that on the menu that it was non-vegetarian ). I don’t find fault with the individual here as I strongly believe the onus rests with the management to have well trained staff.

To Drink:

Apart from the non-alcoholic beverages they seemed to only have wines and mostly local ones. While I wasn’t shocked with the wine list what really surprised me was the fact that they didn’t seem to have a number of them in stock.

To Eat:

As the night wore on the experience worsened with each course. My salad was horrendous and I have a very strong feeling they didn’t toss it at all.

The garlic bread was terribly buttery but decent enough, and I ended up munching through that with my glass of wine.

We decided to order vastly different dishes for the main course to get a sample of each and so ended up having a lasagna, a cottage cheese steak ( yes the person eating this was vegetarian ) and grilled chicken with a tomato risotto. While their menu is significantly more exhaustive than the three mentioned above, the experience was enough for me to swear off ever going back there again.

Array

The cottage cheese steak was a very badly thought out dish as I do not see anyone having the stomach to finish such a large quantity of the cottage cheese, the veggies were in my opinion the highlight of the meal.

Array

The chicken dish was the nicest of the lot and something that saved what was a pretty sub-standard meal.

Finishing Up:

Again, this has to be the worst apple pie I’ve had in a long time.

I've been an avid Foodie ever since i can remember, whether it was enjoying something my Grand Mother rustled up in the kitchen, eating at a five star hotel or at a corner Dhaba. This Blog was started as a means of discussing with you, the reader, my experiences at these very restaurants and watering holes across the city of Bangalore. Over time I plan to include information on alcohol and travel destinations as well.
