Cafe Terra is one of the few places in Bangalore where i truly feel at home ( it helps that i live close by
) . I love the fact that i can saunter in wearing flip flops and shorts, something that i do quite often.
There is a certain charm about the cafe, its quiet for the most part. The only times where there is a rush is at breakfast during the mornings ( they make a mean English breakfast ) .
The Experience:
It’s location leaves a lot to be desired and unless you have it pointed out to you finding this small cafe can be a little difficult.
The decor is very dated and the restaurant isn’t terribly clean, however it’s a nice alternative to the crowded and commercial coffee day outlets.
To Eat
The Cafe is famous for its waffles and ice cream and their breakfasts. The English breakfast is something that i devour on a regular basis. It consists of scrambled eggs, sausages, grilled potatoes and tomatoes, baked beans, toast and a side of coffee or tea. Their iced tea is something else that i love having specially on a hot day, though i do feel the quality has come down a bit.

Their sides are decent as well, whether its hash browns or a side order of grilled potatoes and tomatoes.
or a plate of oily potato wedges.
If you love your omlette’s in the morning I would recommend trying the spinach, corn and sun dried tomato one. It’s light and fluffy and tastes brilliant.
More substantial fare comes in the form of steamed rice with a chicken in thai red sauce and the always yummy momo’s ( non-veg and veg )

The decor is an issue, the place has gotten a fresh coat of paint recently but it still does look far from clean. It’s also about time they had an infusion of fresh reading material.

I live close to this place but somehow never have had the time (or energy) to visit the place for a breakfast. So, I decided go in for a high tea instead
Ordered the iced tea, a waffle and a ham and cheese crepe and was majorly disappointed with everything but the iced tea.
The waffle was soft and looked as if it had been baked some time back and the crepe, from what I suspect, gave us a bad tummy !
NOT A NICE EXPERIENCE at all.
The food is nothing to write home about, that i agree. For me its more of a comfort factor than anything else and yes i generally only have the iced tea.
The english breakfast is quite decent and you should try it the next time you are there.
