Most drinking sessions start with a head long rush to the nearest watering hole the moment you step out of the office. This day wasn’t any different, it just involved a longer drive.
So, whats so special about tavern? Well, the biggest thing going for this pub is its location, being on Museum Inn road ensures that you are as central as you can get. Unlike some of the other pubs it still has the charm of a good old Bangalore pub.
The Experience:
Tavern has always been a nice place to hang out, good music , efficient service and location. Yes i did mention this about a second ago!
This place gets crowded very quickly so I’d advise making a dash for this place as soon as possible. Once you get there make your way up the narrow stairs , into the bar and plonk yourself in the first chair you can find.
The waiters are very courteous and get you your drinks and food rather quickly.
To Drink:
It’s a traditional pub so there is no shortage of drinks to choose from, whether its your basic hard liquor, cocktails or range beer and wine.
The cocktails come in small glasses so be prepared to order a couple during the course of the night. The good thing however is that they are generous with the quantity of alcohol so the drinks do pack a punch given their size.
The bloody Mary they served had a chili in it!! no doubt to Indianize it
The Mojito wasn’t half bad and while the flavour wasn’t spot on the quantity of alcohol in it was.
To Eat:
There is a wide range of bar food to dig into the starters seem to be the most popular. However i was not very impressed with the food. It’s one thing to serve average bar food but quite another to charge an exorbitant fee for it.
[flickr]photo:3379514024[/flickr]All said and done it is a really nice place to chill out at, however the cost of the food and drink is definitely on the high side and unless I’m heading back to order just a pitcher of beer I just might start looking for options. It is about ROI after all
