Whitefield does have a number of companies scattered around and as a result a number of restaurants and hotels have sprung up to cater to the burgeoning corporate crowd.

While there are a number of more expensive options, sometimes all you want is a decent, solid helping of Chinese food and for those of you in the Whitefield / Marathalli area, Wok with Chung just might be what you are looking for.

The Experience:

To set expectations this isn’t a great restaurant, however the food is decent and the quantities quite generous. You will not rack up a huge bill at the end of the meal.

The last time i went there we ended up ordering what i think has become a norm for working lunches, rice with a “gravy” item, this only serves to re-enforce the fact that we very rarely eat proper Chinese food but more of an Indianized version of it.

The rice was a mix of chicken and egg ( standard Chinese fare ) and the chicken in black sauce complemented the rice rather well. The one dish that i do like here, mainly because of how different it is, is the chicken in taro’s nest which is chicken served in a potato crisp shell.

Do not go here if you are looking for a nice place to have a meal.

I've been an avid Foodie ever since i can remember, whether it was enjoying something my Grand Mother rustled up in the kitchen, eating at a five star hotel or at a corner Dhaba. This Blog was started as a means of discussing with you, the reader, my experiences at these very restaurants and watering holes across the city of Bangalore. Over time I plan to include information on alcohol and travel destinations as well.
