Nestled in a quiet ( by Bangalore’s standards ) section in Indiranagar the Ants cafe is deceptive at first glance as it seems to be a boutique shop for clothes, jewelery and artifacts from the north east.  While i do appreciate nice looking clothes i figured it might be best to stick with reviewing the food.

To get to the cafe, which is located on the terrace you will need to make your way through the shop and up a narrow staircase located at the back.

The Experience:

The rooftop ambience is serene and comforting, the sound of the wind blowing through the trees makes for the perfect backdrop to a solid morning breakfast.

Once you’ve settled down and gone through the menu its time to dig into that first cup of coffee or tea. The options range from the regular coffee’s and desert coffees to the something called non-coffee coffee’s ( was tempted to order one ) .

For the non-coffee drinkers out there feel free to indulge in teas, iced teas, granitas, smoothies and sparkles.

I dove straight into the English breakfast which consists of toast, scrambled eggs and sausages. The scrambled eggs were perfectly done and the sausages were sublime, prompting me to order another plate.

If you get to the cafe at any other time of the day you might want to choose from their list of short-eats. Fries, chicken nuggets, potato wedges and such.

As an egg man ( sounds strange doesn’t it ? ) the variety of omlettes really impressed me with ingredients ranging from Cheese, Masala, corn mushroom and cheese, onion pepper and ham, cheese and chicken, ham and mushroom to the more traditional spanish omlette. And the list doesn’t stop there, dig into sandwiches and burgers or pastas and salads if you feel like it.

For those of you with a sweet tooth the brownies and donuts are definitely worth trying.

I've been an avid Foodie ever since i can remember, whether it was enjoying something my Grand Mother rustled up in the kitchen, eating at a five star hotel or at a corner Dhaba. This Blog was started as a means of discussing with you, the reader, my experiences at these very restaurants and watering holes across the city of Bangalore. Over time I plan to include information on alcohol and travel destinations as well.
